Bolstered by pandemic-induced budgetary changes, law firm chief marketing officers have recently been making investments in technology to help drive revenue growth. But according to one new survey, small and mid-sized law firms still have a way to go to catch up to other industries in utilizing customer relationship management (CRM) technology.
The “2021 State of CRM in Professional Services” survey from business development solutions company Ackert, Inc. found that 12% of surveyed law firms did not have any CRM system, a lower percentage than the other professional services (accounting, financial advisory, consulting and engineering) surveyed. In addition, only 7% said their lawyers actively use CRM systems, with only engineers (5%) registering a lower rate among direct fee-earners among professional services.
